Edna Walling travelled to many Australian towns from Queensland to South Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania as well as Victoria - taking photographs, visiting potential clients and admiring the scenery, sometimes stopping to identify a plant or gather a seed or two. This list is compiled from the State Library of Victoria's picture collection of Walling photographs. It gives an idea of the extent of her road travels, no mean feat in those days. Roads in those days were usually dirt or gravel, and often boggy and potholed. Both a tyre jack and a spade were put to good use for those times she got bogged.
