Dear Miss Walling,
I was most grateful for your letter, and extremely sorry that just for the moment I an unable to adopt your suggestion. I am immersed in domesticity, public engagements and uncertainty as to my future occupation. As soon as I am reasonably free, I shall, if I may then, come to visit your settlement of which I have already read.
May I say, too, how much I have admired your work in the "Home Beautiful". Your style is so intimate and informal - just as a gardener's should be.
Yours Sincerely,
Enid Lyons.
