Regrettable to relate a new "Gardens in Australia" is not going to be published by Heinnemanns after all. They had written saying 'Certainly they would be interested', but now Mrs Yvonne Taylor (of Heinnemann) has written it would only be acceptable if I re wrote the whole thing - in short - another garden book, which she outlined when returning the "Garden in Australia" and new illustrations and some replacing MS I had sent them. I have written telling her I would not be interested in writing another garden book, but that she could consider you with her ideas in case you had the time and inclination.[...]

Second thoughts! Yes I would like to write another garden book. No one would publish it. I hope someone will knock me on the head if they see me being so stupid before I waste too much time and energy - and not to mention the soul destroying reactions of publishers!
