Just to make this time of the year a little more overwehlming than usual, there is a new scheme afoot. Sonning is to be held responsible for the upkeep of at least one prisoner of war, and to raise the wind, so to speak, plants from the garden will be sold to all those who come to buy for this purpose. You will have to ring up and say that you are coming, for without making an appointment I can't be sure of being at home, or being available at any odd time. We have already raised many pounds by means of a tour around the garden with me leading the way with a spade.
