As well as an investigation of her garden design style and legacy, this book is a biographical work on Walling. The author has illustrated a well researched text with family photographs, Walling's own photography and contemporary photographs of the gardens discussed. A second edition, "Edna Walling and Her Gardens", was published in 1991 by Florilegium, Balmain, N.S.W.
