Pearson, Daphne Joan GC WAAF (1911-2000).

    -Born in England, emigrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1959.

    -Friend to Walling and partner of landscape architect Mervyn Davis.

    -First woman to receive the George Cross for gallantry in the Second World War. Pearson saved a fighter pilot from a burning plane loaded with bombs.
