"I have often been criticised for using the coastal tea-tree, Leptospermum laevigatum, but where there is sufficient space it presents a very soft and pleasing effect, and is at its best when growing out of the lawn in a natural group, that is, several planted quite closely together, one or two being but a foot or two apart. Such a planting will give you a charming sheltered corner where the sun will filter through the tea-tree branches fitfully."
