"Zelkova serrata, or "Keaki". - This tree which comes from Japan, belongs to the natural order Ulmaceae, in which are included the elm and the hackberry. The tree is more open and less compact than an English elm, and the bark flakes off, occasionally showing a pinkish brown colour beneath. It would make a beautiful shade tree for a lawn where the effect of the trunk with the splashes of pink and the rough texture of the bark could be fully enjoyed."
