Of course there are flowers in your vegetable garden - there always are in a good kitchen garden. That is where the herbaceous border of old originated and what a perfectly lovely idea it is: not only does it break the monotony of the seried rows of vegetables, not only does it provide you with fragrance and colour whilst you are being thoroughly practical, and if the truth must be told are thinking solely of your stomach, it also is highly practical to be able to gather flowers for the table at the same time as the "greens"...
