One of the villagers hustled up to the front door this morning in a great state of annoyance. For the reason that explains all human behaviour towards those who have tried to please, some of these villagers are ready to attack on the least provocation - it can be a matter almost invisible, but fertilized and cultivated will assume the necessary proportions to give reason for attack. They keep a watchful eye on me - I must not be allowed to get away with anything that is not in accord with their view of what I should and should not do on this village, a village created (quite incidently [sic] by me) for the benefit of their joyous and peaceful living - not mine, I have long since learnt.
