The nicest of all my clients never carried out one of my plans! ...I would take along the plan to him, or he would come and we would set to work on the kitchen table and go over it with a fine tooth comb ...out of the mutual respect we had for each other we would decide that I'd better do another sketch and so it went on. ...It would be like a huge bed of flowers which one would look across and through the pillars to the distant sea beyond. I took it around and said "Will that do?" He studied it carefully then said, "It's a dream."
