The other day I decided it was time that I bestirred myself to action instead of talking so much about the alarming elimination of gum trees in this country, and as the trees about here were bearing seed at that time, there was nothing to excuse me from gathering and sowing it... [regarding the resulting seedlings, she continues] ...I look fondly at these little fellows, musing upon their importance; one day they or their offspring will make good timber, fuel or paper pulp - incidentally they will provide us with beauty for years before the time comes for felling them.
